From a Small Corner of the Shop to a Thriving Outdoor Brand: The Story of PNWBUSHCRAFT
In 2013, my husband and I set out on an adventure—not into the wilderness, but into the world of handcrafted outdoor gear. What started as a small project in the corner of our shop quickly grew into something much bigger: PNWBUSHCRAFT, a family-run business dedicated to creating heirloom-quality waxed canvas gear for those who love the outdoors as much as we do.
At the time, we didn’t have a grand business plan. What we had was a deep love for craftsmanship, a belief in quality over quantity, and the desire to make gear that could stand the test of time. We started with just a few designs, each one carefully handcrafted, and slowly built a community of like-minded outdoor enthusiasts who valued durability, sustainability, and supporting small businesses.

From the very beginning, we knew we didn’t want to make just another piece of gear—we wanted to make something with purpose, something that people could pass down through generations. That’s why every PNWBUSHCRAFT product is designed with the following values in mind:

Strengthening the Outdoor Community
Over the years, PNWBUSHCRAFT has grown, not just as a business, but as a part of the larger outdoor industry. That’s one of the reasons I’ve taken on a board member role within Campfire Coop, a collective of small businesses and creators dedicated to collaboration, education, and mutual support.
Through the Campfire Coop, I’ve had the opportunity to connect with other makers, share knowledge, and help shape the future of the outdoor gear industry. Whether it’s mentoring other small business owners, collaborating on projects, or simply encouraging the next generation of makers, I believe that working together makes us all stronger.
The Journey Continues
From that small corner of our shop in 2013 to where we are today, PNWBUSHCRAFT has been an incredible journey. We’ve learned, adapted, and grown, but one thing has remained the same: our passion for making high-quality gear and building a community of outdoor enthusiasts who appreciate craftsmanship and adventure.
